How does it work? The Moderna vaccine contains the genetic instructions for making the coronavirus spike protein, so that our cells can make the protein and build an immune response to it.

How is it stored? Unlike the Pfizer vaccine, the Moderna vaccine can be stored at -20C for up to 6 months, and at refrigerator temperatures for up to 30 days.

Is it safe? The Moderna vaccine has been shown to be safe and effective, with the most common side effects being pain at the injection site, headaches or tiredness that generally lasted for 1-3 days. Thanks to its mRNA technology, the Moderna vaccine can also be quickly updated to help protect against emerging variants.
