A new study from Sweden has found a surprising link between taking Viagra and improved life expectancy amongst heart attack survivors. Impotence can be a warning sign of cardiovascular disease, but is generally treated with alprostadil instead of Viagra amongst heart disease patients. Since Viagra (and other PDE5 inhibitors) decreases blood pressure, it previously has not been recommended for heart disease patients due to the risk of heart attack.
