BiPAP Machines

“Bi-Level” or “BiPAP” machines have two pressure settings operating together throughout the night – IPAP and EPAP. IPAP stands for inspiratory positive airway pressure, and is the pressure delivered to your upper airway that will prevent it from closing throughout the night. The EPAP level represents the expiratory positive airway pressure, and is set at a reduced pressure that makes breathing out against the air pressure of CPAP more comfortable.
