April 2, 2021

Good news for tea lovers! Research has shown that certain types of tea may be able to help you fall asleep and stay asleep at night.

Winding down and relaxing with a warm cup of tea has more benefits than you think. Not only does it set a peaceful mood and warm your cold hands, it can help improve your night time routine and sleep quality. Combined with a good sleep routine, the right type of tea can really make a difference!

Try these teas in the evening for a better night’s sleep:

  1. Chamomile Tea – The plant itself contains apigenin, a compound that mimics medications used to treat anxiety and insomnia. It has been shown to produce a mild sedative effect and also acts as an antioxidant A 2016 study showed that those who drank chamomile tea for 2 weeks had significantly better scores of sleep than those who didn’t.
  2. Lavender Tea – Lavender is a very relaxing fragrance and is also calming as a tea. A 2015 study showed that drinking lavender tea for two weeks led to reduced fatigue in sleep-disturbed people.
