Sove’s Bulk-Billing Commitment: Quality Sleep Care Without the Cost Barrier

Getting a good night’s sleep shouldn’t come with financial stress. Yet for many Australians, the cost of diagnosis and treatment for sleep conditions like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can be a barrier to getting the help they need. That’s where Sove and Centurion Healthcare step in, offering bulk-billed services that put patients first.

Why Bulk Billing Matters

The Centurion Group operates with a clear mission: to make quality care accessible, affordable, and timely. Unlike many other providers, Centurion continues to offer universal bulk billing of all medical procedures, including home sleep studies and lung function tests. Sleep study–referred patients are also eligible for a bulk billed Respiratory & Sleep Physician telehealth consultation. This means patients don’t have to worry about large out-of-pocket costs when taking that crucial first step toward better sleep and better health.

With 1 in 5 Australians estimated to have OSA—and around 80% remaining undiagnosed—the need for accessible testing is greater than ever.1,2 Untreated OSA isn’t just about snoring or feeling tired; it significantly increases the risk of serious conditions like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.3 Bulk billing ensures that more people can access early diagnosis and treatment without delay.

What You Can Expect from a Sleep Study

At Centurion Healthcare clinics, the process is simple and patient-friendly. Using the Falcon HST device, patients take part in an overnight home sleep study, allowing them to sleep in their own bed while the device monitors for sleep disorders. The next day, the device is returned, and results are processed quickly so treatment—if needed—can begin without long waits.

To qualify for a Medicare-funded, bulk-billed study, patients need to meet certain screening criteria, such as an Epworth Sleepiness Scale score of 8 or more, or a STOP-BANG score of 3 or higher. Even if you don’t meet these criteria, you may still qualify after a bulk-billed telehealth consultation with one of Centurion’s respiratory or sleep physicians.

Expert Care, Without Compromise

Under the guidance of Dr Anthony Frankel, former Head of Respiratory at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Centurion Healthcare brings together a highly experienced clinical team. This includes respiratory and sleep physicians, a cardiologist, sleep technologists, and CPAP consultants. Patients can access both in-person and telehealth consultations—with urgent appointments available when needed.

Beyond diagnosis, Sove makes ongoing care straightforward and affordable. With one of Australia’s most trusted websites for sleep health, patients can explore a comprehensive range of CPAP machines and masks from leading brands like ResMed, Philips, and Fisher & Paykel. Flexible rental and payment plans are available, ensuring treatment remains within reach.

Putting Patients First

At its heart, Sove’s bulk-billing commitment is about removing barriers and empowering Australians to take their sleep health seriously. With universal bulk billing, minimal wait times, fast reporting, and personalised support, patients receive not only affordable care but also compassionate, high-quality treatment tailored to their needs.

If you’ve noticed loud snoring, daytime sleepiness, or poor focus, don’t ignore it. Speak to your doctor today and ask whether a bulk-billed sleep study through Sove and Centurion Healthcare could be right for you. Getting tested could be the first step toward better sleep, better health, and a better life.
