Tips To Stop Jet Lag

November 14, 2021

With international travel opening back up, many of us are bound to experience jet lag again. Thankfully, there are several ways to stop this from occurring – here’s how:

  1. Shift your internal clock before you travel – Adjust your bed time to get your body ready for your destination. Try using an App on your phone or set reminders to create a new routine.

  2. Drink plenty of water – Staying hydrated is key to minimizing the effects of jet lag on the ground. Make sure to drink a lot of water on the flight to help the body’s circadian rhythm.

  3. Avoid alcohol – the effects of alcohol are greater at a higher altitude and can make you very dehydrated.

  4. Avoid Sleep-Aids if you can – Allowing the body to shift naturally is best as some sleeping pills can have a negative effect on your body’s ability to combat jet lag.
  5. Get some sleep – Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring your sleep mask and travel pillow.

  6. Get some natural light – It is important to get some natural sunlight to let the body know when to rest and when not to.
